Our Story
Vintage photo from Nautilus Diving
Dive Bermuda was founded in 1981 as Nautilus Diving directly off of the beach at the Fairmont Southampton Resort. Making the most of Bermuda's world class diving and the boom in recreational scuba diving, Nautilus quickly garnered a reputation as a fun, safe and pioneering dive center.
In the 1990's we changed owners and our name to the now familiar Dive Bermuda. In 1994 we joined PADI and have been a member for over 25 years now, training 1000's of divers from beginner all the way to instructor. As of 2011 we changed hands yet again with local lawyer Mark Diel taking the reigns. Mark worked at Dive Bermuda as a young man and has been associated with the company in one way or another ever since.
In 2016, Dive Bermuda expanded and opened their sister dive center at Grotto Bay, which was formerly Triangle Diving. We fitted out our dive boat, dive center, and rental equipment to match the same high standards.
In 2023 we opened our location at Somerset bridge and Dive Bermuda can now proudly offer diving from both ends of the island.
At Dive Bermuda Grotto Bay we have made it our mission to build upon our 35 year+ history of diving excellence to create the best dive center in Bermuda. Our attention to safety and detail means we hold our customer's satisfaction above all other factors. Professionalism and customer service are our mantra.

On the boat, you’ll find him talking up a storm—sharing stories, swapping laughs, and making fast friends with just about everyone he meets.
Tristen
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Hailing from Texas, Tristen brings a little southern spark to the dive boat—where even a rough day feels more like a rodeo. With a love for fish and all the tiny critters in between, she’s quick to spot what others miss and underwater, her contagious energy and wide-eyed excitement says it all.
Bonnie
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Born and raised in Miami, Bonnie brings tropical energy wherever she goes — whether she’s leading a dive or gushing over her beloved seahorses and manta rays. With conservation in her roots and stamps from the Bahamas, Greece, and Oman in her dive log, she’s always chasing the next underwater story. When she’s not blowing bubbles, she’s probably on a trail or a yoga mat. Dive in with her and you’ll see why exploring the ocean never gets old.
Edward
PADI Staff Instructor
Meet Ed, who’s been teaching for multiple years and still lights up like it’s his very first dive. Whether he’s cracking jokes on the boat or floating through bubbles underwater, Ed’s all about creating memories that stick. If you’re ready for good vibes, great dives, and a whole lot of fun, he’s excited to make it happen with you.
Anabelle
PADI Dive Master
Anabelle is a proud Bermudian and a seasoned Dive Master who feels most at home beneath the waves. Ask her about her favorite dive site and she’ll light up talking about The Dredger, not just because of its haunting beauty and vibrant marine life, but because it’s woven into her own family history. Her great‑great‑grandfather worked on that very vessel, so every dive feels like a reunion with the past. With Anabelle guiding the way, every underwater adventure comes with local insight, a dash of heritage, and a whole lot of fun.

Bully
Cat
Meet our resident cat Bully, though the name is more for show than truth. Every morning he’s there to greet us. While his hunting skills leave a bit to be desired, he more than makes up for it with charm and cuddles. He’s been filling out a bit lately, but if you ask Captain Heinz, that’s not fat, that’s strategic insulation. After all, a cat has to be prepared for winter
